What inspired your company to join the coalition?Upon review of our operations, we realized that we have an enormous battery footprint, whether through our supply chain or electronics. By joining RBC, our company has the required support to maintain our commitment to responsible and sustainable battery usage.Describe your company’s current efforts toward responsible lifecycle management of batteries (regardless of technology). With an enormous fleet of vehicles for product delivery and operational use, we have protocols in place to ensure the proper disposal and recycling of batteries. At our corporate and companies offices, there are programs in place to enable the recycling of batteries associated with electronic devices. How do you hope to contribute to RBC’s mission? With my experience in public affairs and communications, I would like to be considered a strong advocate for RBC across North America. In the near term, I’d like to directly grow the presence of RBC in Canada.Twenty years from now, what would be your ideal scenario for battery manufacturing and recycling? The ideal scenario would see batteries well recognized as an integral part of a high-functioning global low carbon, circular economy.Check out LafargeHolcim’s 2030 Plan to learn more about our sustainability commitments - https://www.lafargeholcim.com/2030-plan.
