Responsible Battery Coalition Statement on President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill

July 4, 2025

WASHINGTON - The Responsible Battery Coalition issued the following statement on President Donald J. Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which passed the House of Representatives on July 3rd, 2025.

"We thank President Trump and Congressional leaders for recognizing that America’s battery future must be built by American companies in the U.S., not by foreign adversaries. From cars and delivery trucks to ambulances and tanks, everything that moves in America depends on critical minerals. Maintaining the Section 45X tax credit for domestic manufacturing of battery components is crucial for enabling U.S. companies to invest in long-term domestic mineral processing, recycling, and recovery infrastructure, thereby reducing our reliance on unreliable foreign sources for materials essential to our national and economic security.
The Responsible Battery Coalition and its members remain committed to working with Congress and the administration to ensure that America’s battery future is clean, secure, and made in the USA.” - Steve Christensen, Executive Director of the Responsible Battery Coalition.
