Responsible Battery Coalition Statement on Senate Bipartisan Physical Infrastructure Deal

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Responsible Battery Coalition (RBC) today released the following statement on the White House and United States Senate’s announcement of a bipartisan agreement on a physical infrastructure package. The legislative deal includes over $15 billion in funding for electric vehicles and buses, EV infrastructure, and charging stations.

“As President Biden and Congress work together to modernize our nation’s infrastructure by incentivizing the greater use of battery-powered electric vehicles, the Responsible Battery Coalition urges our leaders to consider the entire life-cycle of vehicle batteries, from material exploration and extraction through design, manufacturing and sustainable battery recycling programs, that will help safeguard our critical automobile supply chains and the environment.”

— Steve Christensen, Executive Director of the Responsible Battery Coalition
